About Us

Tassburg is a fasteners manufacturer which was started in 1967 by Tassilo Burger. In the 70s
Tassburg made significant inroads into the Southern African fastener market and enjoyed enviable
reputation for the quality of product manufactured.

Over the years Tassburg has expanded and increased its product lines with the
manufacturing of certain lines of bolts to supply the building, mining, and agricultural
industries in Zimbabwe. From humble beginnings Tassburg has developed into a renowned
screw manufacturer.
The product range was expanded dramatically in 1974. With the same vision that Burger had, we
acquired Tassburg with the hope that it will contribute to the growth of the economy. With this in
mind a few positive changes have been made since its acquisition from Zimplow these are as follows:
1. Relocation of manufacturing plant: The factory was relocated from Harare to Bulawayo.
The move resulted in a decrease in rental of about 66.6% this drop came a long way in
assisting with operating effectiveness and cost management.
2. Exhibition at the Trade Fair: In an effort to attract new customers the exhibited at the ZITF
which is an annual event held in Bulawayo where businesses get an opportunity to network.
The response we received was remarkable, which resulted in orders being secured that
translated to actual sales. Currently we are developing screws for a local manufacturing
company that previously imported from China.
3. Expansion of product range: After market research was carried out an introduction of hook
bolts to the vast catalogue of fasteners was identified. Fortunately the machines currently
being used were able to make these products without any major modifications.
4. Establishment of Sales and Marketing Team: This consists of employees that have been
with the company for many years that have built relationships with customers and that
understand fully the products made. To compliment this, personnel with marketing expertise
that are new to the company have been engaged. The pooling in of people with different skills
will allow the Tassburg brand to re-establish its position in the market.
At present we are the only manufacturer of fasteners in Zimbabwe which gives us a competitive
advantage. Furthermore, we have managed to retain experienced employees whom have been with the
organization for many years thus not compromising on product quality.
In the long run, the implementation of all the above and an increase in capacity utilization will result
in Tassburg being the major supplier of fasteners in Zimbabwe.
